Nisha van Laar is passionate about creating opportunities for students to learn about
the world around them. Her own experiences as a study abroad student in high school
and college taught her the value of connecting with people from around the world.
She has taught in the US, France, and Turkey as well as living in Belgium and Sweden.
She holds a bachelor's degree in fine arts with a minor in French from Mount Holyoke
College, a master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University
of Illinois, and a master's degree in Business Administration from Ferris State University.
Her professional experiences have ranged from language teaching, CEA accreditations,
curriculum development, ESL teacher training, and cultural event planning. In her
free time, Nisha enjoys traveling, trying out new recipes, and tending to her plants.
